Shopify vs Wix for a small online shop

Both can sell online. The right one depends on whether selling is the business, or a side of it.

Pick Wix if

  • You are mainly a service business that sells a few products on the side.
  • You want one simple tool and you will not grow past a handful of products.

Pick Shopify if

  • Selling online is the business.
  • You want subscriptions, bundles, discounts and reviews that work properly.
  • You plan to sell on Google Shopping, Instagram, TikTok or Amazon as well.
  • You want room to grow without rebuilding later.

SEO and AI

Both can rank. What matters more is how the shop is set up: fast pages, real product descriptions (not the supplier's), clean collections, product markup and answers to the questions buyers ask. That is also what AI assistants read when they recommend products.
