Privacy policy

Last updated 31 July 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. We keep it short and in plain English on purpose.

Who we are

This website, thebrighthours.studio, is run by Bright Hours Limited (trading as The Bright Hours), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17364432. We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything to do with your data, email us at [email protected].

The information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us:

  • When you fill in our "Work with us" form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your project, including an optional budget.
  • We do not ask for any sensitive personal information, and please do not send us any.
  • Like every website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) in its server logs, to keep the site secure and running.

Cookies and tracking

This site currently uses no analytics or advertising cookies. We do not track you around the web.

  • Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure. These are not used to track you.
  • We load our fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address in order to serve them.
  • If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information only to reply to you, understand what you need, and prepare a quote. Under UK GDPR our legal basis is that you have asked us to take these steps before we might enter into a contract, together with our legitimate interest in running and improving the studio.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted providers who process it on our behalf, only to run this service:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts this website and handles the form submission.
  • Resend, which delivers your enquiry to us as an email.
  • Google (Google Workspace), where our email inbox lives, and Google Fonts, mentioned above.

Some of these providers may process data on servers outside the UK. Where they do, they are covered by appropriate legal safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry and any related correspondence for as long as we need it to help you and to keep proper business records, and no longer. If you become a client, we keep what we need for the life of the project and our legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or provide it in a portable form. To do any of these, just email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business grows or as the site changes. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.

Questions about any of this? Email [email protected] and a real person will get back to you.
